IFRF Online - The Membership Network
Considering the general industrial demand for research, development, and demonstration in combustion and related phenomena and because of the complexity of industrial flames, no single discipline can handle the work required.

The overall task is essentially a set of multi-disciplinary tasks and, a number of individuals or organisations must be involved and their work co-ordinated or networked.

The IFRF, within its Membership Network, has been undertaking this task for over 50 years.

The IFRF Membership Network consists of:

  • Industrial companies based in the power generation, the petroleum refining, the iron and steel, cement, glass, and chemical manufacturing industries; those industries where large quantities of fuel are fired in turbulent diffusion flames for process heating purposes.
  • Associated combustion equipment manufacturers and service companies.
  • Fuels and industrial gas producers and distributors.
  • Companies and research organisations active in the fields of fuel production and utilisation, and energy and environmental matters.
  • University departments, as institutions, or through the independent membership of an individual member of the academic staff.

The IFRF Membership Network is managed on the basis of NINE National Committees for Flame Research. In addition there is an Associate Members Group which provides services in those countries not covered by the National Committees.

American Flame - AFRC
British Flame - BFRC
French Flame - CF
Italian Flame - CI
German Flame - DVV
Finnish Flame - FFRC
Japanese Flame - JFRC
Netherlands Flame - NVV
Swedish Flame - SFRC
Associate Members Group - AMO

The National Committees and the Associate Members Group together provide services to twenty one countries around the world. The IFRF Membership Network extends from the Americas through Europe to Central and East Asia, and to Australia.
